Mission Planning Evening – 12 May 2025

At our first open evening on 12 May members from Bolsover, Clowne, Inkersall and Central were joined by the Circuit Leadership Team. We spoke about:

How we expect our neighbourhoods to change, changes that our churches will need to respond to. These included new housing estates, retreat of public services, increasing diversity, drug taking/ antisocial behaviour, changing patterns of how people socialise and culture wars.

What will your neighbourhood need?

How different churches need to respond to different contexts. Some see signs of growth and could set a growth plan to discern how they can FLOURISH.

Some are unlikely to be able to continue as they are long into the future but wish to explore different ways that they can be church and so be REVITALISED.

For some churches the time might be coming to END WELL.

And of course within our circuit we have NEW CHURCHES emerging.

What does the best future for your church look like?

What each of our churches need to do next to step towards their best future – a mix of small tweaks, big steps, and new things we need to learn. And what the hardest step would be for each of our churches.
