Tom Surgay

Young People's Pioneer

Tom is employed by the Circuit on a part-time basis as a Young People's Pioneer. This involves working across a number of churches and communities in the Derbyshire North East area, with a wide range of ages from toddlers right up to university students and young adults.

When he isn't working for the Circuit, Tom is employed by the Diocese of Southwell to work as a Chaplain in a local secondary school for two and a half days a week.

Tom has a passion for sharing the Good News with everyone he meets and has a particular heart for introducing children to Jesus at a young age.

Currently, Tom is On-Trialas a Local Preacher in his home Circuit, Nottingham North East. He hopes to have completed the course by the end of 2024.

Tom lives in Hucknall, Nottingham with his wife Louise, their son Ethan, and their dog Jasper.

Away from work, Tom enjoys spending time with his family and taking Jasper on long walks in the countryside. As well as this he is a big fan of sport, particularly football and motorsport. He supports Notts County and was a season ticket holder at Meadow Lane before Covid but doesn't get to many games these days due to other commitments.
