Welcome to Hasland Methodist Church.

A Methodist church in Hasland was started in a cottage on Chapel Lane East in 1831 and moved to the present site in 1901. From 1901, the Church has provided a place for people to meet and worship. In 1985, the premises were extended to accommodate increased use by the community. Since then, Hasland Methodist church has been a central place in the village of Hasland where a wide range of community activities take place every week.

In response to the overwhelming use of Hasland Church Premises and the need to create a more flexible worship area the Managing Trustees decided to refurbish the worship area in order:

• to provide a modern and welcoming 'worship area'
• to support increasing local community needs for social interaction
• to improve disabled access and external visual appearance
• to reduce our carbon footprint

Hasland Methodist church embraced a variety of activities and Sunday services before Covid -19. Most of the activities have resumed and we have gained some new groups too.

SUNDAY WORSHIP

Sunday Worship is every week at 10.45am, with Holy Communion and Café Style worship once each month.

SPECIAL SERVICES

Throughout the year, we have special services that are very well supported by members of the community. These are as follows:-

PET BLESSING SERVICE : During July a service is held for people to bring their pets to be blessed.

MEMORIAL SERVICE AT 4.00PM: On the 1st Sunday in November, a service is held to remember loved ones who have died, especially those who have died during the previous 12 months. If you wish to remember a loved one, you are welcome to join in this moving act of worship.

COMMUNITY CAROL SERVICE: On Christmas Eve at 6pm, many from our community come to celebrate the birth of Christ with a "Carols by Candlelight" service. Different people from the community of Hasland take part during the service. There is a midnight Holy Communion service, starting at 11:30pm

OTHER CHURCH ACTIVITIES

9.30am- 12.30pm Wesley's Coffee Shop, is held every Saturday

7.15 – 10pm Ladies Circle meets on the 2nd Wednesday in the month.

7:00 – 10pm Crafty Chit Chat meets on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays.

2.00 – 4.30pm Friendship Café is open every Tuesday.

2.30 – 4.30pm Hasland Hangout meets every Friday in term-times, to offer toast, drinks and games for young people.
