Sunday Evening Youth

Five years ago, in the summer of 2021, an event was hosted by one of Central's J-Gang leaders where seven teenagers gathered for pizza & games. The intention was to ask the question "How do you want church to be?".

This led to a conversation whereby a permanent fellowship group might be established; one where teenagers can come for social activities, but also a time of fellowship and discussion.

Since then, we have gathered a number of Secondary-school aged young people together fortnightly on a Sunday evening for games, fellowship and refreshments. This group has also travelled together to 3-Gen – the annual Methodist Youth Weekend in Birmingham's NEC – and met with various groups across the District and Connexion for fellowship, worship, and activities.

Our vision for young people across the Circuit is to engage together, grow together, and be the church of both our present and future. The Sunday Evening Youth Group has extended an invitation to young people across our Circuit and all are welcome!

Sunday Evening Youth will return on Sunday 13th of September. The group continues to run fortnightly, at  Central Methodist church from 6pm-7:30pm, where a light meal will be provided. All leaders and helpers fully Safeguard trained and DBS checked.
